We recommend that you stop using retinol products for one week before your appointment. You should also be using a good sunscreen daily during this time.
A carbon peel combines two things: the actual peel and a laser. Before your treatment begins, your skin will be cleansed, and then you will be given protective eyewear. The mask will be applied (it looks like a dark clay mask).
The carbon mask absorbs oil, dirt, dead skin cells, and other debris from deep within the pores. Once the mask has been applied to your skin, the laser will begin to do its work. It will be passed over your skin, and the mask activates the laser light energy. The laser “zaps” up the mask—and all that dirt and oil along with it. Enlarged pores will also shrink due to the laser heat, and pigmentation will dissipate. Treatment time is quick and convenient, and there is no downtime—just a fresh, healthy glow. Repeat carbon peels can be scheduled four weeks apart.
