Any kind of tan must have faded for at least one month prior to treatment. Treatment Details

It’s important to us that you’re comfortable during treatment, and Dr. Lamoureux uses a variety of methods to ensure this. She gives you plenty of time to pre-treat with an anesthetic, she makes sure you’re in a comfortable position before the procedure, and we utilize a cooling device throughout your treatment.

Before treatment begins, we will cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing agent. You will also be given protective eyewear. Once you’re ready, the Icon 1540 handpiece will be applied directly to your skin, where it will treat the areas needed in a “stamp” motion. Treatment time takes 20-45 minutes, and typically 4-6 treatments (spaced one month apart) are needed for optimal results.

Recovery and Results

There is minimal downtime after an Icon 1540 laser resurfacing treatment. Depending on the location on your body where you underwent treatment, most patients go right back to their regular activities afterward—although some see temporary redness, warmth, and/or swelling of the treated area or stretch marks for a few days. If the treatment area was on your face or an area visible to the public, you may experience a few days of social downtime, and we advise you to plan accordingly. We advise limiting your exercise routine in the days following the treatment as well.
