Dr. Lamoureux’s Education
Dr. Lamoureux achieved her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi community service-focused honor society and served as the Treasurer of the organization. She also served as the Secretary/ Treasurer of her Medical School class. In addition to her vigorous medical school studies, she participated in many community outreach activities, but most enjoyed the time she spent as a mentor to at-risk youth in the community as she helped provide him tutoring, encouragement, and support. She also helped organize the first-ever Biddeford Free Clinic Turkey Trot to raise money for the clinic. Before starting Internal Medicine Residency at Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Florida, Dr. Lamoureux anticipated that she would complete that medical training first and then go on to specialize in Dermatology. Through the three years as an Internal Medicine Resident, she was humbled each day by the tremendous profession for which she was now part. Caring for patients and participating in the promotion of health was the most rewarding experience.
This residency provided for the fundamentals of patient care, management of disease, and promotion of health. Her leadership, passion and knowledge were recognized by receiving the following notable honors during her training:
- Intern of the Year
- Two time Resident of the Year
- Resident Teacher of the Year
- Chief Resident in residency years two and three.
- Sole recipient of the program to be awarded two consecutive grants from the
- Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine to conduct original research each for the amount of $5000.
